Your JSON payload may contain destinations which are unexpected. Here's why!
With the introduction of AIS tracking, which is vessel-level tracking, there is far more data being included in many payloads than previously.
This can mean that your container's journey, which previously only showed milestones including:
- a Port of Origin
- any transshipment ports
- a Port of Destination
Your payload will now show additional stops that the vessel is making even if the container is not removed from the vessel.
This is a normal function of AIS and is not of concern.
We have ensured that these milestones have a source: AIS included in each one, so if you would prefer that they not appear in your final data, you can filter them out by removing any milestones which have that source.
