The Vizion API's Demo environment is meant to be used as a testing or staging grounds for users getting started, or evaluating Vizion's track and trace service. The Demo environment ([https://demo.vizionapi.com](https://demo.vizionapi.com/)) has a limit of 50 active references. Each API key is allowed 15,000 calls, or requests, to the Demo environment on a monthly basis. Other than the above differences, the Demo environment functions similarly to the Production environment. ### How should I use the demo environment? We view the testing process as beginning with creating several references using one of the POST methods, such as the [Create Reference via Carrier Code endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#9eb0b1c1-0627-4722-9096-3b456298f5da), to test tracking containers for carriers that your business or customers regularly use. Once a reference exists, you can use the following API endpoints to view the appropriate responses: - [Show Reference Details endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#59a956bb-9bb2-4c16-a865-ce5c165b3652) - [List Active References endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#610cc114-e3a8-4344-912b-1b10bca95894) - [List Reference Updates endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#f197ba28-296c-4b32-8184-f4bb98614f3f) If you are subscribed to Vizion's Pro plan, we also recommending testing the [List Container Trace endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#203f392c-3b4a-4466-b84f-980c97d1bc80). Once you've tested creating your references and taken all desired actions against those references, we recommend that you de-activate them all (or the ones that are no longer necessary) by using the [Unsubscribe Reference endpoint](https://docs.vizionapi.com/#a29c8e0c-b75f-4d72-ac5d-0110d4426f60) to free up space again. ### Can I increase my reference limit? As Engineering wishes to keep the performance of the demo environment as stable as possible, raising the limit is not recommended.
